There are many meditation practices to choose from, but here at Body Mind Spine we practice the most evidence based technique called Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction or MBSR. Studies show that the MBSR program can lead to a wide range of benefits including:
An 8 week program, developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, Ph. D., at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center in 1979, is being taught all over the world because it is supported by over 40 years of published scientific research validating its positive outcomes. MBSR is an 8 week in-person program that meets once a week for 2.5 hours and includes a full day of practice called a 1 day silent retreat. Participants are given at home practices, exercises and access to guided meditation mp3s to deepen personal practice and strengthen their mindfulness muscles throughout the entire 8 week program to prepare for the full day silent retreat and life going forward.
